County-wide burn ban issued for Milam County

The ban will be in effect for 90 days, according to an order issued by the Milam County Commissioners Court on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

MILAM COUNTY, Texas — The Milam County Commissioners Court has instated a burn ban for the county.

The order will be in effect for 90 days unless lifted prior by the Commissioners Court or County Judge.

"With the conditions continuing to dry out around the county and the fire threat increasing daily, it has become necessary to institute a County-Wide Burn Ban until further notice," said the Milam County Courthouse on Facebook when announcing that they had instated the ban.

Milam County isn't the first county to enact a burn ban, but they are the most recent. Nearby Robertson County instated a burn ban for the county the day prior, but some counties not too far away like Bell and Hill counties have recently lifted their respective county-wide burn bans.
