TEMPLE, Texas — FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FORECAST: Conditions should stay dry but cloudy through the evening with temperatures staying in the low to mid 70's throughout the football games tonight. In the overnight hours, cloud cover and humidity will keep temperatures up a bit tomorrow morning. We'll only fall into the upper 60's/lower 70's by daybreak.
TOMORROW: While not everyone will see rain tomorrow, we are tracking scattered thunderstorms, especially tomorrow afternoon. These storms could produce some gusty winds, heavy rainfall and thunder & lightning. Overall, though, we're expecting most thunderstorms to stay in that "run-of-the-mill" category. Otherwise, temperatures should climb to about 80° areawide tomorrow afternoon under mostly cloudy skies.
EXTENDED: We continue to see DAILY rain chances through the weekend and on into next week. Chances through the weekend will be about 30-50%, but on Sunday, some added instability could lead to some locally strong thunderstorms. Monday, rain chances are up as a strong front moves through. Some storms could be strong to severe along the front, but after everything moves through, we're in for SIGNIFICANTLY COOLER weather for Election Tuesday! Shower chances will be lower but not zero in the middle of next week. Temperatures will FINALLY be consistently fall-like, with highs in the lower 70's and lows in the 50's.
