Man arrested, woman shot to death in Harker Heights after domestic disturbance

Police said they found a 47-year-old woman dead in a home early Tuesday morning.

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas — Harker Heights police took Willis Everett Washington, II into custody in Copperas Cove on April 7 at about 11:29 a.m. after a woman was found shot to death early Tuesday morning.

Washington was taken to Bell County Jail from Copperas Cove and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke, charged with tampering with evidence and bond set at $500,000.00

Police said Latonya Washington, 47, was found in a home in the 800 block of Trail Crest Dr. around 3 a.m.

Police said their investigation lead them to believe a domestic disturbance of some kind had taken place earlier in the evening.

Washington was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman with a bond set at $1,000,000.00 and remains in the Bell County Jail.
