5-year-old, two teens identified as victims who died in May 27 crash near Troy

Police said all three people who died in the crash were family members.

TROY, Texas — The victims of a deadly crash near Troy on Monday, May 27 have been identified, according to police.

The Troy Police Department identified the three victims as 17-year-old Landon Kinsey, 18-year-old Kiersten Kinsey and 5-year-old Bentley Swain. All three people who died were family members, police said.

Police stated a fourth person in the vehicle who was not a family member was reportedly taken to Baylor Scott & White with "unknown injuries".

Troy PD stated officers were dispatched to a one-vehicle rollover around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, May 27 near mile marker 312 on the I-35 service road. Police said all four people were thrown from the vehicle.

Troy PD said according to the preliminary investigation, they believe the vehicle left the roadway on the southbound service road, which caused the vehicle to roll.

Police said they believe Landon Kinsey was the driver of the vehicle. No further information has been made available at this time.
