The pandemic has left many people out of work, which means a once essential expense, vehicle lease contracts, is now on the chopping block.
Swap A Lease is an online service that matches someone who wants to get out of their vehicle lease with a credit approved individual interested in taking over the remaining contract. Since the pandemic began, Swap A Lease Vice President Scot Hall said they've seen a 66 percent uptick in people interested in this service.
"We're getting a lot of calls, emails and interest in what we do. It really is a win-win situation that we've created for both sides." Hall said. "What I think we're seeing right now is people getting out there and being proactive about what their options are if this pandemic does go on for a longer term and we do get to the point where people are having trouble making their payments."
Hall suggests that you work with your leasing company as another option. He said he's glad this service can help lighten the load for so many.
"We wouldn't have been in business the better part of 20 years if we didn't care about our clients. It does feel good that we can provide another option for a lot of individuals when times are tough like they are presently," Hall said.
