WACO, Texas — One person is dead and another in critical condition in Waco following a car crash that involved a sedan and a semi-truck, according to Waco police.
The crash happened at E. Loop 340 and Idylwood Lane in Waco shortly before 8:30 p.m. April 24. When officers arrived, they the person dead and another trapped inside the sedan.
The Waco Fire Department worked to free the trapped person for an hour. The person was then taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police say the semi-truck driver fled the scene on foot. The driver has not been found.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and the identities of the people involved have not been released, pending notification of family.
