$80,000 in fines cleared in Killeen's warrant forgiveness program

Residents on the active warrant list had the entire month of December to resolve these fines.

KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Municipal Court announced that over $80,000 in fines and 146 warrants were cleared as part of its Warrant Forgiveness Program.

Residents had the entire month of December to resolve any warrants without fear of arrest and the program ended on Dec. 31.

Those with warrants were able to appear in court and find out if they were eligible for alternatives such as community service or fine reduction based on ability to pay.

2023 saw an increase in forgiveness as only $58,000 in fines and 109 warrants were cleared in 2022.

“The second year of the program was another big success,” Judge Kris Krishna said. “Although fewer people came forward this year, we cleared more warrants worth a much higher total value.”
