MARLIN, Falls County — After being open for about a week, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that their Disaster Recovery Center in Falls County will be closing.
The center is currently located at Marlin Middle School, located at 678 Success Drive, and will officially close at 7 p.m.
Last week, FEMA announced that they would be closing their Disaster Recovery Center in Coryell County. A FEMA representative told 6 News the decision to close the center was made with "guidance from state and local officials" in regard to the brief amount of time the center was open.
"Foot traffic can certainly influence how long a DRC (Disaster Recovery Center) remains open," the representative told 6 News.
