34-year-old dead after injury related to house explosion in Copperas Cove

According to Copperas Cove FD, Landon Michael Lower died in medical care on May 28 after being injured in a house explosion just four days prior.

COPPERAS COVE, Texas — A man has been confirmed dead by Copperas Cove authorities after a house explosion that took place on May 24.

According to Chief Gary Young, Landon Michael Lower, 34, died on May 28 from injuries related to the house explosion just four days prior in the hospital.

Officials were made aware of the explosion around 6:22 a.m. that day and responded to the area of East Blancas Drive and North Main Street to put out the fire and investigate what occurred.

Several power lines in the immediate area were also damaged, which caused a wide-spread power outage that was later restored, according to a Copperas Cove representative.

The Copperas Cove Fire and Police Departments are continuing to investigate the incident.
