COPPERAS COVE, Texas — A house exploded early Friday morning in Copperas Cove.
The City of Copperas Cove said the fire department and police department were at the scene of East Blancas Dr. and North Main St. where it happened. The area was closed to all traffic but emergency responders.
Video of the home posted to Facebook by neighbor Annette Kingsley after the explosion shows it engulfed in flames. Kevin Keller with the City of Copperas Cove said it happened a little before 6:30 a.m.
"I ran outside and to what was left and started the video," Kingsley wrote on Facebook. "I heard the explosion when it happened it shook my place several homes are damaged because of it."
Several power lines in the immediate area were also damaged, which caused a wide-spread power outage that was later restored, Keller said.
Keller said the cause was under investigation.
