WACO, Texas — No strong winds or cold weather was able to rain on the Veterans Day parade in Waco.

The parade made it's way down Austin Street in downtown Waco on Monday.

This year there was close to 4,000 participants and 180 floats and groups who passed out candy, waved to spectators, and saluted our veterans.

“When my father was still alive, he lived with us for the last five years of his life,” said Navy Veteran Robert Scattergood. “We would come to the Veterans Day parade every year until he passed away in 2012. So this is an annual thing for us and we really enjoy it.”

"It is just amazing being out here to know that people in Waco and the surrounding area support us," said Marine Veteran Jeff Dunner.

The parade is organized by the McLennan County Veterans Association.
