NOLANVILLE, Texas — The Nolanville Faith Outreach Clinic is expected to open in the spring of 2024 with the help of the community, providing access to free healthcare every Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
The clinic will be open during these hours to be more accessible to those who work during the day.
The project began in 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacted construction of the historic building at 101 Main Street, where the clinic will be.
When 6 News spoke to those leading this project in 2021, they had hoped to have it completed that year. When 6 News checked back with them in 2022, they said it would open in spring of 2023.
It hasn't been an easy or short process, but as of February 2024, the clinic has been built and is expected to open in the spring.
"People would drop in $5 for the clinic, $50, we had a $1,000 donation, after that story it was just amazing," said Patricia Warden, Sr. Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Nolanville and a leader in building the clinic.
Word of mouth got more businesses to chip in, provide free or low-cost labor, supplies and so much more. Now the clinic has walls, tables, counters and so much more.
The facade outside actually shows what the clinic is supposed to be, a sanctuary for those seeking free healthcare for mental, physical and emotional needs.
Warden said the hope for the clinic is to have it up and running in early April, but they will need the community to help them get there.
