Central Texas Goodwill asking donors to hold-off on donations

Heart of Texas Goodwill said with its stores closed due to COVID-19 they are asking people not to donate for now.

WACO, Texas — Heart of Texas Goodwill is asking donors to hold their donations until its centers in Bell, Brazos and McLennan counties reopen.

The Goodwill locations were closed following the statewide COVID-19 mitigation directives.

"We realize it is a significant inconvenience for many people in our communities, be we are asking, please hold onto those valuable donations to give to Goodwill when we reopen,” Heart of Texas Goodwill President and CEO, Shannon Wittmer said.

Heart of Texas Goodwill is currently making plans to be able to rebound quickly and reopen area Goodwill stores and donation centers as soon as the government officials recommend, a press release said.

Heart of Texas Goodwill will post information about when donation centers and stores will be opening on its website and social media channels.

A list of all Goodwill donation centers can be found here.

“If you are doing spring cleaning or even just getting antsy while being at home, please just hang on to your donations a little while longer because Goodwill is really going to need them soon,” Wittmer said.
