Waco electric scooter, bike rental project delayed

The city of Waco said the shared mobility project would kickoff in June, but now they hope it will launch by the end of the summer.

WACO, Texas — The city of Waco said the public would be able to rent electric bikes and scooters around downtown by June, but city officials said that project has been delayed.

In May, the Waco city council approved a one-year contract with Gotcha Bikes to send a small fleet of 50 electric bikes and 50 electric scooters to the downtown area.

Chelsea Phlegar, of the Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization, said city officials are hoping the program will launch by the end of the summer.
