Killeen chamber of commerce launches 'Serving our Heroes' campaign for front line workers

KILLEEN, Texas — Killeen community members are being invited to help honor first responders and healthcare workers on the front lines dealing with the coronavirus. 

The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce started the "Serving Our Heroes" campaign to purchase gift cards from chamber member restaurants to deliver to police officers, fire fighters, EMS and hospital workers. 

The chamber is now inviting the community to donate to the chamber so the cards can be given out every Friday in April.

Last week, 143 gift cards were delivered to the Killeen Police Department. This week more than 300 gift cards will be donated to AdventHealth staff. 

The chamber has partnered with Logos n' Thread to sell T-shirts benefiting the cause. $10 from each shirt sold will go to the Serving Our Heroes fund that is used to buy the gift cards. 

Those looking to participate are also encouraged to send cards or colored pictures to the Killeen chamber to deliver with the gift cards on Fridays.
