Governor Abbott expands disaster declarations

Texans who experienced property damage are encouraged to report their damages through the online Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool damage survey.

TEXAS, USA — Governor Greg Abbott expanded the state's disaster declaration today to include Hopkins and Titus counties.

As mentioned previously the Federal Emergency Management Agency granted approval for adding Bell, Robertson, and Terrell counties to the Federal Disaster Declaration.

"To ensure Texans across the state have the resources they need to recover from severe weather, I am adding two more counties to the state’s disaster declaration," Governor Abbott said.

Texans who experienced property damage are encouraged to report their damages through the online Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool damage survey. The information collected assists officials in connecting impacted Texans with resources and services. Additionally, reported damages aid officials in determining eligibility for federal disaster assistance.

FEMA has also extended its Public Assistance program to cover public infrastructure repairs and emergency work in Bell, Robertson, and Terrell counties. With this extension, citizens in 41 counties are now eligible for FEMA’s Public Assistance program, while 24 counties await FEMA review.

While FEMA has approved Individual Assistance programs for 35 counties, requests for Anderson, Bosque, Nacogdoches, Panola, and Rusk counties remain under review.

Eligible Texans in listed counties can apply for FEMA’s Individual Assistance, covering expenses such as temporary housing, emergency home repairs, and medical costs.
