Salado man to perform on season 26 of The Voice tonight

Michael Alexandersson is hoping to win over the hearts and ears of the judges on tonight's episode.

SALADO, Texas — A Salado resident is hitting the stage tonight for a possibly lifechanging performance.

Michael Alexandersson will be a contestant on the latest episode of The Voice on Oct. 8, performing for a chance to join Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Gwen Stefani or Snoop Dogg on their teams in this year's competition.

Alexandersson is originally from California, but now calls Salado home, according to his website. He comes from a family of musicians, with his father also being a professional singer and guitar player and his great-grandfather being a popular singer in Sweden in the 1930s.

From Frank Sinatra to Bobby Darin to Elvis Presley, Alexandersson says he covers "all of the swingin' tunes you know and love".

The Central Texas community is cheering Alexandersson on with a watch party at the Barton House in Salado tonight during the episode. Alexandersson himself will even be in attendance at the event, and will perform ahead of the episode's premiere.

If you're not able to make it to the watch party, you can catch Alexandersson's performance on KCEN 6 News at 7 p.m.

Waco's Kendall Eugene also performed on the show earlier this season, joining Reba McEntire's team.
