The Easter Bunny comes early for Waco elderly

With flowers, eggs and goodies, employees of Texas Home Health and Hospice dressed up as the Easter bunny and visited several assisted living facilities.

WACO, Texas — Employees at Texas Home Health and Hospice said their goal Tuesday was to simply lift the spirits of those in the community who need it the most.

"We just know our seniors and their facilities are not able to get out and see their loved ones so we wanted to be able to come to them to and spread some cheer and love to their heart," Tracy Smith of Texas Home Health and Hospice said.

With flowers, eggs and goodies, the employees dressed up as the Easter bunny and visited several assisted living facilities throughout Central Texas.

"It’s just very important to get out there and spread some good cheer to our facilities and say thank you to our health care workers that are out there and really giving it their all at this time,” Robin McKinzie of Texas Home Health and Hospice said. “We really appreciate you at Texas Home Health."

The employees say every day their job is to help serve those in need, and that this experience great.

"My heart is so full. It was tears of joy seeing their faces and blowing us kisses through the window. It was so amazing."

Texas Home Health and Hospice said they visited between 8-10 senior assisted living facilities on Tuesday.
