According to the 6 News Weather Team, severe storms are expected to make their way through Central Texas beginning late Friday afternoon.

Warm and muggy conditions are expected throughout the day. As a very strong cold front moves in these conditions will create a favorable environment for severe storms to develop around the I-35 corridor by about 5 p.m.

According to the 6 News Weather Team, the area under an enhanced risk for severe storms spans from San Saba through College Station. Outside of those areas are labeled as a slight risk for severe weather, but should still be weather aware.

With the threat of severe weather comes the risk of damaging winds, hail and the possibility of tornadoes. As of the time this article was written, there were no immediate threats of severe weather. However, this can and is expected to change later in the day.
