Severe storms bring heavy rain, hail in Central Texas

Some areas experienced a tornado warning.

TEMPLE, Texas — Severe storms swept through Central Texas Thursday evening, bringing heavy rainfall, high winds and hail in some areas.

6 News viewers sent in videos of conditions via Near Me, which is available on our 6 News KCEN app.

In Troy, resident Becky Markham shared video of pea-sized hail.

Drivers along I-35 near Bruceville-Eddy also difficulty driving along the highway due to heavy rain and lack of visibility.

Meanwhile, in the Waco area, residents experienced thunderstorms.

Though there were no reported tornadoes in the area, there were tornado warnings issued for Bell, Falls and McLennan Counties between 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. They have since expired.
