Storm causes power outages and damage throughout Central Texas

Cities across the area have reported hail, strong winds, and power outages.

BELL COUNTY, Texas — Severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings plagued Central Texas late Oct. 24, causing damages and power outages.

KCEN received footage from sources in Copperas Cove, Moffat, Kempner and Temple showing large-sized hail falling in huge quantities.

Incredibly strong winds were also reported, causing damages in places like Nolanville.

Winds were strong enough in the Jarrell area, which was under a tornado warning, to flip multiple 18-wheelers on their sides near IH-35, according to the Jarrell Office of Emergency Management.

Numerous power outages were also reported across Central Texas. According to Oncor, Bell County suffered 213 outages, affecting around 14,950 people. Hill County was reportedly hit with 77 outages, affecting 3, 083 people.

Oncor reports that both Williamson and Travis County had nearly 5,000 people affected by outages each, while surrounding counties such as Falls, Coryell or Milam had anywhere between just over 100 people affected to almost 2,000.
