Potential for severe storms in Central Texas late Thursday evening

According to the 6 News Weather Team, thunderstorms moving through Central Texas Thursday evening have the potential to become severe. 

The majority of Central Texas is currently at a Level 2 Slight risk for severe weather, eastern portions of the region are at a reduced Level 1 Marginal risk.

According to the 6 News Weather Team, the storms are expected to dissipate as the sun sets and as they move east. 

Cloudy and windy conditions are expected to remain throughout the night, bringing a warm and humid environment for Central Texans.

While models don't show much activity, hail and winds will be a threat with any storms tonight.

Thursday: 30% chance for rain early.  Mostly sunny with highs near 75° Wind: NW around 10- 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph

Friday: 30% chance for rain. Mostly sunny with highs near 82° Wind: S 5-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph

Saturday: 20% chance for rain early Sunny with highs near 70° Wind: NW 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph

Sunday: Sunny with highs near 80° 

Monday: Mostly sunny with highs near 81°

Tuesday: Partly sunny with highs near 82°
