BOSQUE COUNTY, Texas — A man is dead in Bosque County after being swept away by flood waters, according to the Bosque County Sheriff's Office (BCSO).

BCSO said dispatch received a call in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 5 from a woman who said her husband had left their home to check on rising water near their home, which was reportedly an RV near the creek.

The woman said she called 911 after she was unable to contact her husband.

BCSO said emergency responders were "hindered" in getting to the scene by flooding roadways, but were able to get to the location and rescue the woman.

After a search of the area, BCSO said responders found the body of the husband, who they believe had been swept away in the rushing water and drowned.

The identity of the man has not been released at this time as the family is notified, the Sheriff's Office said. No further information has been given at this time.
