YARRELTON, Texas — A Milam County family is counting their blessings today. They're all safe and unharmed after Monday night's storms, but they now have a lot of rebuilding to do.
The Parker family's property in Yarrelton, Texas along FM 1915 took a direct hit.
"I could see it kind of building, I walked in the house and before I knew it, it was coming through the house," said homeowner Sam Parker. "The family just got as far in there as we could."
Parker and his wife bunkered down along with their three kids, waiting the storm out in the bathroom.
Then, they walked out to catastrophe.
"There's stuff everywhere," Parker said. "Most of the windows are blowed out and however fast that wind was moving through yesterday is how fast everything was kind of rearranged."
The home he's lived in since 2013 is now destroyed.
Parker let 6 News get a look of the damage inside his home. The walls and ceilings have water damage, there are shards of glass and wood just about everywhere and the storm also ripped a portion of his roof off.
But, there was more damage Parker says it surrounded his property.
"That was my camper, that was my backup plan if something ever happened to my house, but I can't even stay in that now," he explained "It's kind of messed up."

His camper was parked closer to FM 1915 but the storm threw it just yards away from the house, barely missing it. The campers structure and items inside now fill the Parker's front yard.
Not only did the storm knock out his home, but also his livelihood.
His business, Sam's Collision and Tint, was demolished in the storm too. It also sits on the property off FM 1915.
"My business was just about set," Parker said. "I i was just pretty much finished building it and now I gotta start over."
And he's sticking to it. He says where the Parker family calls home and his business will be rebuilt.
Community members are having a benefit for the Parker family Saturday, March 26 at Cyclone Corral BBQ in Burlington where they hope to raise funds and lift the family up. The event will include corn hole and an acoustic show from Texas artist Holly Tucker. Donations are welcome and a silent auction is also in the works.
