All properties in Killeen placed under boil water notice

The City of Killeen said the water shortage caused by the severe winter weather reduced water pressure and services.

KILLEEN, Texas — The city of Killeen issued a boil water notice for all properties in the city Wednesday effective at 5 p.m.

"A water shortage caused by extreme winter weather has reduced water pressure and services," a press release said. "As a precaution, customers who have experienced low water pressure and/or no water service should boil all water prior to consumption."

It's one of dozens of boil water notices issued throughout Central Texas.

The city asked residents to share the notice with anyone who may not have received it directly like people in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses.

For updates on the order call 254-501-6515. City Water and Sewer Services can be reached at 254-501-6319.
