List: Fort Hood, government offices delay Thursday start time due to winter weather conditions

Many county offices and Fort Hood will have a delayed start due to incoming winter weather conditions.

TEMPLE, Texas — Many government offices along with III Corps and Fort Hood will have a delayed start Thursday due to the winter weather conditions. 

Here's a list of delays. It will be updated.

Fort Hood 

Fort Hood's Senior Commander approved delayed reporting for Thursday. 

  • All units will cancel physical training and no road guards will man intersections on post during that time period.
  • Department of the Army Civilians will report to work no earlier than 9 a.m.
  • Soldiers and Airmen will report to work no earlier than 10 a.m. 
  • Commanders may decide to have Soldiers report earlier for mission requirements. Contract personnel should contact their program manager for report times.

Emergency essential personnel report as normal, in coordination with their supervisor.

The Fort Hood Child Development Center will open for mission essential personnel at 5:30 a.m. All other CYS child care programs (SAC and CDC) will open at 8 a.m.

Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center  will reschedule all morning appointments for Feb. 24 prior to 10 a.m.

  • The Laboratory and Pharmacy will open at 10 a.m., and the Surgery Clinic will open at 9:30 a.m.
  • Appointments after 10 a.m. will remain scheduled weather permitting. This includes clinics, surgeries, administration, ancillary services, COVID-19 testing (in assigned clinics) and the Vaccination Site (Abrams Gym).

City of Belton 

  • Bell County offices will not open until 11 a.m.
  • Voting locations within the Jackson Professional Center and the Harker Heights Recreation Center will be closed
  • Mission critical employees will still need to report for duty and should contact their supervisor if they have any issues with reporting.

City of Harker Heights 

  • 2 hour delay Thursday 
  • Further announcements regarding extended closures could be announced Thursday morning because of the evolving weather situation. 

City of Waco

  • Non-essential services will have a two-hour delayed start and open at 10 a.m. Thursday 
  • Our essential services will still run as usual.

McLennan County 

  • All McLennan County departments, offices (with the exception of those listed below) and the five McLennan County Early Voting sites will open at 10 a.m. Thursday
    •  The McLennan County Sheriff’s Department, Road & Bridge Departments, and Maintenance of Buildings Department should contact your elected official and/or department head.
