TEMPLE, Texas — A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Bosque, Coryell, Hamilton, Hill and McLennan counties until 11:30 p.m.

9:00 AM UPDATE: Lingering convection including non-severe thunderstorms is ongoing through early afternoon with an Areal Flood Watch valid until 7 PM. Areas of particular concern is Waco, McClennan County and Bosque County where 2-3 inches of rain has fallen in the past day.
The severe storm risk for Central Texas and the Brazos Valley for the rest of Friday is at a level 2 out of 5: slight risk which will extend into this evening. Chances for hail up to one inch in size, damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Thankfully, early morning storms helped to take some of the energy out of our atmosphere.
