WEATHER AWARE | Central Texas braces for Arctic Blast

According to the 6 News Weather Team, lows on Friday night are expected to hang around in the 30s with mostly clear skies. Winds are expected to stay breezy through the night and this could cause chill values to be in the 20s. 

Saturday is expected to be nice for the majority of the day as temperatures are going to climb back into the 60s. However, as we head into the evening, the cold front will move through Central Texas around 5 p.m., dropping temperatures from the 60s to the 30s with wind chill values dropping into the teens. 

Sunday: Mostly sunny with highs near 32°. Winds NE at 10-20 mph. 20% chance of freezing rain.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Partly cloudy with highs near 30°. Winds N at 10-20 mph. 30% chance of freezing rain in the morning. Lows near 24°.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy with highs near 30°. Winds N at 15-25 mph. Lows around 14°

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with highs near 45°. Winds S at 10-15 mph. Lows around 14°.

Thursday: Partly cloudy with highs near 58°. Winds S --> N at 10-15 mph. 

Friday: Partly cloudy with highs near 46°. Winds NW 10-20 mph.
