TEMPLE, Texas — TODAY/TONIGHT: Clouds hanging around this morning, decreasing into this afternoon when a cool front arrives (albeit, a weak and dry one); starting around lunch for our Central counties it'll get windy with gusts up to 25mph. We'll be sunny and in the lower 80s when temps peak this afternoon.
Tonight we'll cool down in a bigger way; most will wake up in the 40s with clear skies and winds gusting up to 15mph on Thursday morning. Brr.
EXTENDED: Another warming trend takes us into the weekend, but it won't be too bad. Temperatures will climb into the mid- and upper-70's by Saturday and Sunday. We could even see the 80's on Sunday, but a second storm system and cold front will sweep through before Tuesday. This is where things get interesting. This next storm system will bring another chance for rain, starting on Sunday and lasting into the early parts of the week. The strength and track of this system will determine how much rain we get and how cool we get through the middle of the week. Right now, we're looking at the mid-70's again by Monday, but the fifties could be in the forecast for highs next week. We're continuing to lock this forecast down and will have more details in the days to come. Stay tuned!
