Police: Motorcyclist dead after multi-vehicle crash in Whitney

The motorcyclist that died was identified by police as Jason Collins, 52, of Whitney.

WHITNEY, Texas — A man is dead after a multi-vehicle crash in Whitney that took place in the evening on Monday, Aug. 5.

According to the Whitney Police Department, they were notified of the crash around 5:11 p.m. that day and responded to the 800 block of East Jefferson Street. The major crash involved two cars and a motorcycle.

A single rider was on the motorcycle, but was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist that died was identified by police as Jason Collins, 52, of Whitney. No other injuries were reported.

The Whitney Police Department was aided by the Texas Highway Patrol, Hill County Sheriff's Office, Whitney Fire Department and EMS in the crash scene.
