FM 2113 traffic switch: TxDOT starts construction phase

The switch will affect the stretch from south of the Old Temple Road intersection to Hewitt Drive.

TEMPLE, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation and its contractor are set to implement a traffic switch on FM 2113, beginning this Friday, April 12.

The switch will affect the stretch from south of the Old Temple Road intersection to Hewitt Drive, redirecting traffic onto the newly reconstructed pavement on the opposite side of the current configuration.

To ensure the safe and efficient execution of the traffic switch, various closures will be implemented around the FM 2113 project area.

Sierra Slope Drive and Tahoe Trail will be closed for approximately two weeks, while Vail Highlands Circle will be inaccessible through Sunday, April 14.

Residents living along FM 2113 will maintain continuous access to their homes, with impacted areas being accessible via local roads such as Castleman Creek Road and Cloud Croft Drive to FM 2113 for Black Diamond Circle residents.

TxDOT urges motorists to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits, and avoid distractions while navigating through the construction zone.
