WACO, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation said it will continue work on the northbound overpass at University Parks Drive this week.
To do so, crews will close all east and westbound lanes of University Parks Driver under I-35 nightly starting Oct. 5 through Oct. 15 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
During that time, westbound traffic will be directed to the I-35 northbound frontage road where drivers can turn around at MLK Boulevard and eastbound traffic will be directed to the I-35 southbound frontage road where drivers can turn around at 5th Street.
Crews will close the north-to-south U-turn at University Parks Drive daily starting Oct. 6 through Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drivers will still be able to turn around at the signalized intersection during this closure, TxDOT said.
Crews also plan to close all lanes of US 84/Waco Drive under I-35 and the north-to-south turn around on Oct. 8 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Westbound traffic will be directed to the I-35 northbound frontage road where drivers can turn around at Behrens Circle and eastbound traffic will be directed to the I-35 southbound frontage road where drivers can turn around at BUS 77.
TxDOT said crews plan to close all lanes of Behrens Circle under I-35 and the north-to-south turn around overnight Oct. 7 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Westbound traffic will be directed to the I-35 northbound frontage road where drivers can turn around at N. Loop 340 and eastbound traffic will be directed to the I-35 southbound frontage road where drivers can turn around at US 84/Waco Drive.
TxDOT said these closures and road work are dependent on weather, field conditions and work progress.
