Crash involving 18-wheeler shuts down Highway 317 south of McGregor

According to Texas DPS, a freightliner dump truck had a tire blow out, causing it to leave the roadway and turn over near the railroad tracks.

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — Highway 317 was shut down on Friday, Aug. 23 while first responders work on a crash involving an 18-wheeler.

The crash occurred a few miles south of McGregor. The Oglesby Fire Department was on scene helping work the crash site.

According to Texas DPS Sergeant Ryan Howard, a freightliner dump truck had a tire blow out, causing it to leave the roadway and turn over near the railroad tracks.

The driver was reportedly taken to the hospital to be treated for a "possible injury".

Photos from the crash show a helicopter at the crash scene ready to take an individual to the hospital.
