Pedestrian injured after being hit by car in Temple

The pedestrian that was hit was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.

TEMPLE, Texas — A pedestrian was hit by a car early Tuesday morning, according to Temple Police.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a report from the 3400 block of southwest H K Dodgen Loop that a pedestrian had been hit. When Temple Police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the pedestrian had attempted to cross the street without using a crosswalk and was hit in the middle of the roadway.

Officers closed the roadway for several hours, but was reopened just before 4 a.m.

The pedestrian that was hit was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say. There have been no other injuries reported from the accident.
