North Belton Middle School students killed in motorcycle crash involving 18-year-old

The accident was reported to police around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, police say.

TEMPLE, Texas — Two teenagers are dead and an 18-year-old has been injured after an early morning crash in Temple, according to police.

Around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers were made aware of an accident that took place at the intersection of West Adams Avenue and Westfield Boulevard. When police arrived, they learned that a motorcycle had hit a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old. 

The two teens were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Coleman, who also ordered an autopsy. A third victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The victims that were killed in the crash were confirmed as North Belton Middle School students by a Belton ISD spokesperson. The school's principal has offered her condolences, and the district says they are making counselors available to their classmates.

Police say the cause of the accident is currently unknown, but have identified the motorcyclist in an update as 18-year-old Logan Mayberry.
