TEAGUE, Texas — A railroad crossing in Freestone County will be closed through the end of May for needed repairs, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation (BNSF) Crossing on FM 80 in Teague has been closed for railroad culvert repairs. The timeline for the repairs is being pushed back due to a decision from BNSF to "do a full rehab of the crossing to make it smoother for vehicle travel."
Detours that are currently in place include:
- FM 80 Northbound traffic detouring east on FM 489 to FM 1451 North towards Teague
- FM 80 Southbound traffic detouring south on FM 1451 towards Donie to FM 489 west back to FM 80.
TxDOT advises drivers to plan alternate routes or to utilize the detour routes that will be available during the repair period, which is expected to last through June 14.
