State Loop 121 in Belton to see traffic switches starting Sept. 3

The switch, which includes new striping, is expected to be completed on Friday, Sept. 6, weather pending.

BELTON, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Waco District has announced traffic switches for State Loop 121 in Belton starting the night of Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The work is part of a widening project on SL 121 from West Avenue O to Sparta Road to make the area a four-lane divided highway with shared-use paths, sidewalks, and a two-way left turn lane from Sparta Road to FM 439, according to TxDOT.

In the final part of the switch, northbound and southbound traffic will be pushed to their respective divided outside lanes. More turn lane areas will also be opened, which will allow a contractor with TxDOT to move on to another part of the project involving median work.

The switches, which include new striping, are expected to be finished by Friday, Sept. 6. TxDOT says the conclusion of the work is weather pending.
