FALLS COUNTY, Texas — Part of US 77 in Falls County has been closed for "emergency bridge repairs", TxDOT-Waco District announced on Tuesday, June 18.
TxDOT-Waco District said US 77 from SH 7 to SH 320 has been closed to conduct emergency bridge repairs on the Deer Creek bridge.
TxDOT says the closure will be in place "indefinitely" until repairs are completed and the road is safe for travel.
The closure is a result of two pilings failing, according to the Milam County Sheriff's Office.
While the closure is in place, TxDOT said drivers can use SH 7 and SH 320 as a detour.
