Southbound traffic on I-35 shut down due to truck tractor semi-trailer on fire

The Texas Department of Safety says delays on I-35 where the accident occurred are expected to last up to eight hours.

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced that all traffic headed south on I-35 at mile marker 356 has been shut down. 

The closure is due to a truck tractor semi-trailer fire north of West, according to DPS. No injuries have been reported.

While the shutdown is in place, traffic is being diverted to the exit 356 frontage road.

DPS says they were notified of the accident around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. Delays and accident cleanup on I-35 are expected to last up to eight hours.
