The woman was cited for failure to control speed.

COPPERAS COVE, Texas — According to Texas DPS, a 52-year-old woman crashed into a fire truck while it was parked, aiding another crash on State Highway 9 in Copperas Cove.

Police say the woman was driving westbound on State Highway 9 in a 2015 Ford Flex when she approached a line of cars that were stopped because of a crash.

According to police, the woman failed to brake in time and hit one of the stopped cars, she then crossed the center median and crashed into a fire truck that was assisting at the scene.

At the time of the crash, the fire truck had all of its emergency lights on as it was blocking traffic from the original crash, police say.

According to police, no one was injured during this crash and the woman was issued a citation for failure to control speed.

Texas DPS reminds people to always obey traffic laws and limit any distractions that would cause you to take your eyes off the road.
