KILLEEN, Texas — Editor's Note: The video above is from last week's road closures due to severe weather conditions in Killeen.
Killeen's Public Works’ will be closing several roads starting Feb. 7 as part of an ongoing project to install a 20-inch natural gas line in Killeen, according to the city.
The following scheduled closures are from Feb. 7 through Feb. 11 :
- US Grant Drive, from Lake Road to General Drive
- Robert E. Lee Drive, from Lake Road to General Drive
- Nimitz Drive, from Lake Road to Shoemaker Drive
- Eisenhower Drive, from Willowbend Drive to General Drive
- Ruiz Drive, from Willowbend Drive to Shoemaker Drive
- Sherman Drive, from Willowbend Drive to Shoemaker Drive
- Shoemaker Drive, from Willowbend Drive to Sherman Drive
- Kirk Avenue, from Willow Bend Drive to Sierra Drive
- Dickens Drive, from Westcliff Drive to Winchester Drive
- Purser Drive, from Westcliff Road to Winchester Drive
- Savage Drive, from Westcliff Road to Winchester Drive
- Marlin Drive, from Remington Drive to Winchester Drive
- Acron Drive, from Prairie Drive to Mountain View Drive
- Hunt Drive, from Chase Circle to Mountain View Drive
- Jerome Drive, from West Creek Circle to Ridglea Court
- Lago Trail, from Lago Circle to Ridglea Court
- Lazy Ridge Drive, from Westcliff Road to Whitmire Drive
- Hidden Hill Drive, from Schwertner Drive to Whitmire Drive
- Schwertner Drive, from Wood Hollow Drive to Whitmire Drive
There will be traffic control devices in place to help guide drivers around the work zones and closures, the city says. Crews ask that you use caution in the area.
The city says the full project is scheduled to be completed around the end of February, which could potentially mean more closures.
The following scheduled closures are from Feb. 8 through Feb. 9:
- The eastbound lane of Patton Road from Goodnight Drive to Stone Avenue
The following scheduled closures are from Feb. 9 through Feb. 10:
- The southbound lane of Brock Drive from Rachael Avenue to Sunny Lane
- The right-hand turning lane of Eastbound Veterans Memorial Boulevard at W.S. Young Drive
The closures are due to repairs and damaged sewer services in the area.
