Multi-vehicle crash between Rogers and Buckholts being investigated as hit and run

Texas DPS says they are working on locating the suspect that fled the scene after the crash.

ROGERS, Texas — A "major" multi-vehicle crash on US 190/TX 36 temporarily blocked the roadway between Rogers and Buckholts on Tuesday, Aug. 6, according to the Milam County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office stated the crash occurred at the underpass on the road.

In an update from Texas DPS, officials say the multi-vehicle crash is being investigated as a hit and run. The crash involved a pickup towing two cars headed east on US 190 and a single cab pickup headed west on the same road.

The driver of the single cab was trapped and needed medical attention for his injuries. A helicopter took the 50-year-old Rogers resident, whose name was not revealed, to Baylor Scott and White in Temple.

Authorities say they are searching for the suspect that fled the scene in the other car that was involved in the crash.
