CORYELL COUNTY, Texas — A pursuit that began in Woodway has ended in three total deaths after crashing in Coryell County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Gatesville man driving a 2019 Chevy Malibu was on the run from police and waving a gun out the window on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The driver, identified by police as Michael Scott Hughes, 31, got onto FM 929 and sped towards Coryell County.
While going west on FM 929, Hughes lost control of his car, crossing over into the opposite lanes and hitting a 2023 Volkswagen SUV. According to DPS, Hughes was killed on impact.
