DPS: One dead after two-car crash in Milam County

The crash involved a 53-year-old man from Bertram and Danny Ray Morgan, 54, of Cameron, who was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

MILAM COUNTY, Texas — A man is dead following a crash involving two trucks in Milam County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred on Aug. 16 around 2:16 p.m. on FM 487, less than a mile east from FM 3061. There, a 2016 Freightliner truck with a semi-trailer in tow slowed down to make a left turn onto a private road when the driver of a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup truck collided with the semi-trailer after failing to properly slow down to avoid a collision.

The two that were involved in the crash were a 53-year-old man from Bertram and Danny Ray Morgan, 54, of Cameron. Morgan was announced dead at the scene of the crash. Officials say next of kin have been notified and that an investigation into the crash is still active and open.
