MOODY, Texas — A man is dead after his vehicle was struck by a train in Moody Wednesday, authorities confirmed to 6 News.
Authorities told 6 News that the man was the only one in the vehicle. They do not believe there were any other injuries.
The accident happened along Highway 317 and involved an Amtrak train.
A little before 4:30 p.m., Amtrak posted an alert on Twitter where it said one of its trains that departed from San Antonio was stopped north of Temple because of a disabled vehicle on the tracks. Amtrak and authorities did not confirm if this is the same vehicle involved in the accident.
The Moody Police Department is the lead investigator in this case. Texas DPS is also assisting in the investigation.
No other details were released.
