Police identify woman killed in deadly I-35 crash in Temple

The woman that was killed was from Vicksburg, Mississippi.

TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple Police Department is investigating a crash on I-35 near exit 306 that left a 72-year-old woman dead on Thursday, March 7. 

On Friday, Temple PD identified the woman as Victoria Beluso Aranas of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

The crash was reported around 8 a.m. on Thursday. It was discovered after an investigation by authorities that the woman's car had been sitting in the middle lane of the highway after it had experienced mechanical issues. 

According to police, the car was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler. 

Temple PD had to divert traffic from I-35 onto Exit 305 for several hours while officers investigated. The highway has since been reopened. 

Temple PD says this crash is still under investigation and anyone with information should contact them at 254-298-5500 or Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-8477.
