WACO, Texas —

Interstate 14/US 190 will be under construction beginning Monday in Bell County.

The Texas Department of Transportation said the project is designed to increase safety, and widen the freeway by adding an inside lane in both east and west directions from Indian Trail in Harker Heights to Paddy Hamilton Road in Nolanville.

Two lanes will remain open in each direction as the additional lanes are constructed.

This project will be completed by JD Adams, L.P. of Austin and cost $45 million.

The seven-mile project is scheduled for completion by summer 2021.

Travelers are advised to expect delays, temporary congestion and periodic single lane closures.
