Lanes along Old Waco Road to shift in Temple for road construction

Reconstruction from Tarver/Jupiter Drive to Riverside Trail will reportedly cause northbound lanes to be redirected beginning on Feb. 6.

TEMPLE, Texas — Northbound lanes along Old Waco Road in Temple will be redirected due to an ongoing construction project in February, according to the City of Temple.

The City announced the ongoing reconstruction of Old Waco Road from Tarver Drive/Jupiter Drive to Riverside Trail will include northbound lanes being redirected just south of Tarver Road beginning on Feb. 6.

According to the City, the existing two southbound lanes will become one lane traveling south and one lane traveling north with a four-way stop at Tarver/Jupiter Drive.

After stopping at the four-way stop, northbound traffic on Old Waco Road will take a slight right to continue north on the existing two-lane road, said the City.

The City of Temple stated it estimates this phase of traffic control to be completed in January 2025.

Old Waco Road will reportedly remain open in the area and driveways will be accessible.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area and pay attention to traffic control devices.

Those with questions can contact the City of Temple Engineering Department at 254-298-5660.
