Detour route, details of replacement of bridges at Bosque River laid out

A detour map for the Clifton area related to the replacement of the FM 219 double bridges at the Bosque River will start in September.

CLIFTON, Texas — Route changes are coming for residents in Clifton and drivers that navigate the area on their regular commutes.

According to Clifton Police, the FM 219 double bridges at the Bosque River will be replaced starting in September. A detour route has also been released.

The timeline for the project is one year.

Clifton Police also noted that the detour route that has been outlined was not chosen by the city. TxDOT informed them that they were planning on fixing the road before and after the bridge construction took place.

Police advise those with questions about the project to contact TxDOT and not the police department or the city.
