18-wheeler crash spills beer all over I-70 in Maryland

Cleanup efforts are slowing the morning commute in the area.

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. — An 18-wheeler rolled over and spilled cases of beer all over three lanes of traffic Tuesday morning in Maryland.

The crash happened just before Exit 62 on eastbound I-70 around 4 a.m. in Frederick County. One man was brought to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.

Photos shared by Frederick County Fire and Rescue show cases of beers piled up on the road. In one photo, the road is wet and the cases are crushed, with cans and bottles strewn about the road. The truck itself is on its side blocking all three lanes of traffic.

First responders did not have an estimate for the cost of the beer, or exactly how much beer was spilled onto the road.

As of 5:50 a.m., the road is still closed. Officials say to use alternate routes and to expect delays.
